A departure from my usual area - I recently had a go at some table top photography with fruit and veg. I was trying to get pin sharp images, turned the ISO right down to 100, so needed to use flash to get a good exposure but this produced too many reflections on the varnished table, so went for long exposures about 8 seconds instead, with a tripod. Perhaps stupidly I tried some stacked arrangements with the peppers, which collapsed into a heap mid-exposure, resulting in some unintentional ICM-style still lifes. But the camera wasn't moving, it was the not so still life. Really not sure whether it works or not so I thought I should put it up for discussion. I chose the square crop to crop out the one pepper which stayed stationary and was sharp, and I boosted both red and green individually just slightly so it has more impact.
Regards, Saul.
Hi Saul, nice idea but doesn't really work for me, althougg I do quite like the saturated colours. One problem is the red pepper looks like it is falling upward. It must have been in the upper position for a lot longer than in the dropped position.
Cheers, Des :-)
Firstly well done for experimenting, it's the best way to get some fresh ideas, the colours work well together to my eye but I'm no sure about the white corner.
cheers
Rob
Like Des, I was concerned about the falling upwards effect.
