Programme

A popular and interactive evening, great for talking about photographs and photography. Members gather in small groups to discuss the highlights and lowlights of pictures submitted anonymously by other members.

Kim is a photographer specialising in surrealism and portrait documentary. She works as an art director in the advertising industry and has a degree in graphic design. She says: "My photography combines advertising language with documentary photography, resulting in striking compositions, vivid colours, and inspiring moods that provoke thought and evoke emotion."

Mike is a club photographer who is making quite a name for himself for his portraits. He says: "Until a few years ago, my portraits were mostly candids with a rare shoot on a club studio evening - then it changed, having tagged along with some inspiring people, who got me started. I've now worked with 80+ models and am adding more all the time.

Jonathan grew up on the West coast of France, in a rural region wedged between the sandy waters of the Gironde estuary and the wild Atlantic Ocean. He first worked as a portraitist for a professional studio in the French Alps, and as a sports photographer for the UK studio DE Photo in Bristol. He travelled widely and says: "I started to notice that wherever I went, and whatever type of photography I explored, something kept drawing me back to that one element: water".

Shropshire-based Mark is one of the UK's leading wildlife photographers, a job he describes as 'The best job in the world'. He has been awarded in many wildlife competitions and won the 'Outdoor Photographer of the Year' title in 2011. A number of CCC members have been on his trips and assure us that we are in for a great night.

Submit entries for Harry Sedgwick Competition - Portraits.

This annual competition is named after the late Harry Sedgwick, a CCC member whose photographic passions were landscape, portraits and architecture. Every year the subject rotates among those three genres. This year's theme is portraits. Members each submit three images which are scored out of 20 by the external judge. The member with the highest total wins. An enjoyable but tense evening is assured.

'There is magic that happens when night falls'. Peter's passion is finding and capturing that magic. His skill at doing so has resulted in his FRPS Distinction. He is also a Master Craftsman of the Guild of Photographers. He invites us to join him in exploring the beauty of the London night, one frame at a time.

Tony is an outstanding fine art photographer with work in the permanent collection of the RPS, The Fox Talbot Museum, and in numerous corporate and private collections here in the UK, Europe, Japan and the United States. His books have sold more than 200,000 copies and have been translated into Dutch, German, Spanish, Taiwanese, Mandarin, Russian, and rather fittingly Polish. He is a member of the Landscape and Visual Arts panels at the RPS.

Adam's photographic interests range from landscape to aviation and abandoned RAF bases. Tonight he shares his passion for cars.

Michelle was born in South Africa and settled in the UK in 1987. She cites this background as informing her interest in sub-cultures and the exploration of contemporary social issues and challenges. Her crafted portraits and landscapes meld place and person creating sociological visual and psychological narratives. She is represented by an agent in New York and Amsterdam and her striking work hangs in galleries around the world.

One of the most eagerly-anticipated evenings of the season which takes us out of our camera club bubble. Recent graduates from the University of Gloucestershire photography courses show off their best work. Courses include 'Editorial and Advertising' and 'Photojournalism and Documentary Photography'.

An evening of fabulous macro photography. Slime moulds are neither fungi nor plant, they are myxomycetes. They are extremely small, averaging 1-4mm. This is probably the reason Barry only noticed them by chance in 2019, after many years photographing fungi.

Tim's images capture the beauty of the female form in both manmade and natural environments. He says 'I produce pictures that include models, rather than just pictures of models, and always in partnership with models'.
