This photo was taken a while ago on the top of Malvern British Camp Hill. I thought the original image was a bit stale, especially the sky so I have made it b/w. I have cropped it to concentrate on the people and sky. I have experimented with darkening the people to make them silhouettes but I felt it made the image a bit two dimensional and the contract created a halo around them.
I like it! Nice, interesting statement. Simple and bold, with a sense of place. Just wondering about the kite on the left - yes I can figure out what it is if I look closely, but the strings aren't very visible, maybe if this area was darkened they would show? On the other hand, if the kite was retouched out, the picture would lose something. I especially like the way the weather has been captured, the receding background, and the various subject postures. Not sure how much you cropped but I reckon a judge might say the crop is a bit close at the bottom? Depends what was there originally and if it distracted or not. Just a few thoughts, the image still has impact and works very well as a whole, especially with the mono - having plenty of different tones here helps it a lot.
