A shot from Atrani on the Amalfi Coast last week. I love the guy's attitude and did my best to capture a flavour of the town. I've removed yellow lines and road signs as far as possible. The car in the background bothers me, but David A and I discussed it and I took on board his suggestion of darkening the number plate to make it less obvious. Once again I'm finding the 800px resolution doesn't do it justice!
Yes I share your sentiments about 800px! There's so much going on here and I can't see it too well however it seems to tell a story about the place, and the B&W I feel helps draw attention to the shapes and textures.
Agree, there is a lot of detail in the image and I would like to see a higher resolution file, the mono approach works well but I personally feel that the darkened area behind the scooter rider a bit too dark which may be because I'm viewing the image on a small iPad screen.
cheers

I think you have done the right things. I like the position of the scooter (very italian in itself) and the darkening of the background car is good. Also the town is shown well as a background scene setting. Overall it screams italy.
