This was taken on Thursday before the Fairford opening day a few days ago, from a field about a mile north of the runway. The Swiss Display team was rehearsing (makes a change from the Red Arrows and the white upper wings provide more contrast). I took several hundred photos but the closest images were at below tree level so I had to be quick. I have chosen this because they were between formation and it produced various views of the planes.
A good action shot, David. I agree it does make a change from the ubiqitous yet photogenic Red Arrows. A well caught moment. Quite an obvious vignette on this one but whether or not it is intended I feel it helps focus attention on the planes.
Regards, Saul.
Ideally, you would have separation between all planes but you were not flying so difficult.
Dave
A good shot, but it's not got enough action for an action shot, and i think the overlaps detract from it being a pattern or artistic shot. As you are going for the different angles on the planes I think it would benefit from a good crop to make the planes larger in the frame.
Cheers, Des :-)
Yes, come to think of it a crop would be good, to see the details on the planes.
