Agree with Saul regarding the storytelling side, my only thoughts are that i would have preferred to see the top of the main subjects head And although you've darkened down the runner behind I find my eye still wanders across to his face, would it be possible to apply a slight blur to distract a little.

I really like the lead runner but feel that the overall impression is abit let down by the second place guy who does not look as if he cares that much. Perhaps you got a shot of the leader with a more determined looking second.
