Experienced Photographers from all over the country are invited to present their images on the big screen and explain how and why they took them. Always an entertaining evening
Internal Competitions
External judges are invited to review both prints and images and offer constructive feedback. We also run a monthly competition on the website where we all get to vote!
Training Workshops
We run several courses covering basic to advanced photography with small groups and reasonably priced. Basic Camera Skills, Lightroom, Photoshop, HDR and Advanced Techniques
Print Appreciation
We review sets of anonymous prints, discussing what we like and what could be improved. Popular with new members and a great introduction to the art of reviewing images.
External Competitions
A selection of our best images take part in battles against local clubs. We also recognise talent and celebrate the distinctions awarded to members by associations
International Salon
Each year we receive thousands of entries from around the world for our International Salon. With over 130 Awards, the standard is always high. As each competitor can enter up to 20 images it’s worth a go!
Outings
We organise trips out to photographic locations to take photos together. Some of our recent trips have been to London, Waterfalls, Gloucester Docks, Raglan Castle and Edinburgh
Annual Exhibition
A selection of our prints and digital images are put on show to the public each year. As part of the exhibition, cups and shields are awarded for the best entries.
Special Interest Groups
We run several successful sub-groups that specialise in areas of photography. The Nature Group frequently organise outings to nature reserves and other areas of interest. The Studio Group arrange and share costs for professional studio hire, lighting and models
