The Studio Group is run by Jim Sharrock. We use a 1200 sq ft studio in Highfield Business Park with excellent, up-to-date lighting and equipment, with the added bonus of having the owner of the studio, Andy Hockridge, available to help and give advice. Andy has a degree in Design Photography from Blackpool College of Photography and Fine Art, along with 27 years of shooting all over the World for many blue-chip clients.
The primary function of the Studio group is for members of the Club to improve their photography in a Studio environment and to have some measure of the quality of their work
Sessions are open to all club members who must have some competence in using the equipment. Training sessions will be available during the season subject to demand.
We have had a wide variety of subjects to photograph over the last few seasons, from Fish to snakes, flowers, food, Birds of prey, Harley Davison motor bikes and male and female models.

Next Meeting 2026/27 Season

The next Studio session will be an Introduction to studio photography. Oct 20th 2026.
As this is a practical session, we try to limit the number of members attending to 4-6, depending on what the subject is.
The Studio sessions are for three hours, 1800 hrs to 2100 hrs, with the cost depending on the subject. We try to keep the cost as low as possible and compared to commercial rates for hiring studios we have a very good rate.
If any member has a special subject they wish to shoot in a studio please contact me to discuss what we can do.
