2024-2025 Season
Friday October 4th - Cheltenham by Night
Friday 4th October a night shoot around Cheltenham is planned. We will meet opposite the Queens Hotel on the corner by Imperial Gardens 7.15 /7.30. A tripod would be a advantage along with a reasonably wide-angle lens. We can walk to various places after there, Montpellier, Honeybourne line by Waitrose etc and anywhere anyone wants to. Be nice to see if any of our newer members would like to join us and any help or advice wanted please just ask.

Free Exclusive Cheltenham Camera Club Invitational Studio Event with Clifton Cameras
'I am very pleased to confirm our exclusive Cheltenham Camera Club Invitational Studio Event is now live and available for your members to book a free place.
The event is taking place on Wednesday 25th September at our new Cheltenham location. There are 2x 2.5hr sessions available, AM and PM, with 10 spaces per session.
During conversations we have had during prior events, this event gives your members a great opportunity to understand more about lighting, whether new to it or someone with experience, from one of the best in the business. There will be 2 shooting setups, portraiture with a model and automative photography.
Simon runs a range of courses himself as The Light Doctor and has a wealth of experience working with beginners and experienced photographers. He will be able to talk with you members about working with a model for the first time and give tons of ideas, tips and tricks regarding setting up lights for the first time or how to improve your lighting setup.
Simon has also used a wide range of cameras so any members that do struggle with studio photography using the latest mirrorless cameras will also benefit.'

2023-2024 Season
Photo walk around Arlingham and the Horseshoe Bend - Friday 22nd or Saturday 23rd March
Organiser - Richard Jefferies
I’m organising an outing around the Arlingham and the Horseshoe Bend part of the River Severn and possibly some surrounding villages like Frampton-on-Severn. It offers interesting possibilities in all weathers and conditions. Not just to those interested in the River Severn Project but to any club member.
Before setting a date, ideally in March, I want to test interest and whether a weekday or a weekend would be best. Please email me, severn@cheltenhamcameraclub.co.uk , or via WhatsApp with your preferences.
There are 4 walking trails and we could do one of them before lunch and, maybe, a second after lunch. To easily fit in a lunch break we could do that at the Red Lion. They only do lunch Thursday to Sunday so one of those days would be preferred. A map of the walks can be found here -

You can just come and see what interesting images grab your attention or, if you like a bit of background, there are some links below that might give you some ideas and inspiration.
It’s often referred to as the land that time stands still and has an interesting history from pre-Roman times. The landscape can give rise to images that remind me of Don McCullin’s Somerset Levels series of photographs.

Tuesday 31st October - Nature Group
A trip to Westonbirt Arboretum on Tuesday 31st October. There were lots of photographic opportunities for both landscape and macro work.
Tuesday 17th October.
Trip to Bushy Park London to photograph the red deer in the rutting season. Please see WhatsApp CCC Outings for any updates.
This is a two hour drive and if possible we hope to arrange car sharing. One car is currently full. For anyone making their own way the entry is opposite the King's Arms Hampton Court Rd. KT8 9DD. Go through the gate past the Diana Fountain KT9 9BZ. It is ideal to arrive at sunrise but be aware that due to culling of the deer the gates may not open until 8am. Details on Bushy Park website. Please communicate via the Outings WhatsApp but my mobile number is 07899 925651 if you have any questions.
