22nd October - Nature Group Visit to Batsford Arboretum

Visit to Batsford Arboretum to photograph Autumn colour on Tuesday 22nd October. Meet at 10am in the carpark.

There is also a Falconry there but at an additional cost. 3 flying displays per day although jesses are visable on the birds. Also an opportunity to photograph static birds. Janice and Karin don't plan to visit the Falconry but it is an additional option for anyone wishing to do so.

There is a lovely café there but it tends to get quite busy so I would suggest meeting there at 12.00. Also picnic facilities are available.

Nature Group trip to Slimbridge - 15th January 2024

Winter is the best time to visit Slimbridge as 30,000 ducks, birds and geese come to feed and roost on the Reserve. These include widgeon, lapwing, water rail and the Bewick swans, who have flown to Slimbridge from arctic Russia. 
The morning offers one of the biggest tides of the year and so we will head out first thing to the Estuary Hide for an excellent view across the estuary. Photography can be enjoyed from the many hides, ponds and, at the end of the day, the feeding of the Bewick's swans on Rushy Lake.

Tuesday 31st October.

A trip to Westonbirt Arboretum on Tuesday 31st October.  There were lots of photographic opportunities for both landscape and macro work.

Tuesday 17th October.

Trip to Bushy Park London to photograph the red deer in the rutting season. Please see WhatsApp CCC Outings for any updates.

This is a two hour drive and if possible we hope to arrange car sharing.  One car is currently full. For anyone making their own way the entry is opposite the King's Arms Hampton Court Rd. KT8 9DD.  Go through the gate past the Diana Fountain KT9 9BZ. It is ideal to arrive at sunrise but be aware that due to culling of the deer the gates may not open until 8am. Tuesday 29th August 2023. Trip to Nature in Art.

Trip to Nature in Art led by Janice and Karin.  This is to see the British Wildlife Photography Awards Exhibition. We will meet at 11am in the foyer and anyone wishing to stay for lunch in the café afterwards will be very welcome. It will be an opportunity to discuss what we have seen.
