My ARPS Journey - Mark Wardle

The Associate level of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) requires a body of work (15 images) to be submitted that adheres to a layout (determined by the applicant) and is explained by a statement of intent. The print submission is judged as a whole and then individual images are scrutinised for quality. A successful submission must meet the criteria of the panel of judges in the selected genre. PDI submissions are possible but are necessarily displayed sequentially along with a panel layout.

There are many genres within the RPS (eg landscape, travel, nature documentary etc), but the author selected Nature as his preferred genre.

The PDF article which can be downloaded below was published in the Nature Group IRIS bi-annual magazine for members in November 2025.
